Year Book

These days we always seem to be snapping away taking photos on cameras and phones but they never seem to get printed off, seen or shared!! This is such a shame as these are memories to cherish that should be seen & shared.

By creating a Year Book, you can document your family memories and record those occasions that made you laugh and smile.

This year book is also perfect as a gift for someone special as the photo mats are blank so they can add their own photos and memories throughout the year. Once filled, this mini book will be a keep sake for many years to come.

So, gather your supplies, sit down and craft along with me and let your creative juices flow!

Supplies:

  • 8×8 Paper Collection – I have use Graphic45 Time to Flourish
  • 8×8 Calendar – I have use Graphic45 Time to Flourish
  • 6×6 paper pad of patterns and solids- I have use Graphic45 Time to Flourish
  • Decorative Chipboard in Time to Flourish
  • Cardstock Tags and Pockets in Time to Flourish
  • 12 x Kraft Cards and Envelopes in 8″ x 8″ size
  • 30 x A4 sheets of Black Cardstock
  • Extra sheets of Black card to mat and layer elements of the paper collection.
  • 16 x A4 Kraft Card
  • 24 x Magnets – I use 12mm diameter by 1mm thickness with a .76kg pull
  • 2 x A3 Grey Board or Mount Board
  • 2 x 12″ x 12″ paper or card to cover album
  • 12 x Brads
  • Double sided strong adhesive sheets
  • Single singed adhesive sheet
  • Embellishments, dies etc to decorate cover – I used what I had in my craft stash.

Anniversary Brag Wallet

anniversary-brag-wallet-1I can’t believe that it has been 3 years since I published my first tutorial on YouTube!!

My first project was a Wallet Style Mini Brag Book Video Tutorial that has been viewed over 37,000 times – incredible!!

As a small thank you for subscribing to my channel, I thought I’d revisit this original project and give it a bit of a ‘lift’. I have made this one to a similar size however, there is a little more room for a few more photographs this time and the video has now been shot in HD.

As a extra treat and something I do in my paid Online Workshops, I have created a PDF document to support this project giving you the measurements to accompany the videos. Not So Mini Year Book

So many of us take oodles of pictures throughout the years and these tend to be left on hard drives and cards rather than being easy to view and enjoy with friends and family.

In our daily lives, we snap away taking loads and loads of pictures and as scrapbookers we find it hard to decide which photos to scrapbook.

This year book mini will give you an opportunity to not only showcase many of your photos for each month, but also has room from journaling and memorabilia.

When you have finished constructing this mini book, you will be able to show over 200 photos of your most treasured memories making it a great way to document your year.

Style 5 File Folder Mini Album Tutorial

Here is Style 5 in my File Folder Mini Series. With my step by step video tutorial you can craft along with me to make this beautiful mini album.

Again all I have used is an office foolscap file folder, a couple of photo mats cut from some kraft card stock and  patterned papers that came FREE with Scrapbook Magazine Issue 78, so with the use of a very few materials you to can make a quick and easy mini album to house lots of photos and memorabilia.

With you file folder in the folded position cut this down to measure 13″.

On the long side score this at 3 1/2″ then 9 1/2″ next butt the 9 1/2″ score line to the edge and score again at 6″.

On the short side score at 4 1/4″ and 4 3/8″ then at 8 5/8″ and 8 6/8″.

For magnets I used a company based here in the UK “First4magnets” and got size 10mm diameter x 1mm thick.

So go on, dust off your file folders and make a mini scrapbook album!

Edwinstowe Scrappers March Kit

Here are some images of the sample double page layout I have done using our March Club Kit. I have really enjoyed using this kit, the colours lend themselves to most photos which made it an easy kit to use. Using lots of embellishments adds interest to the page, along with lots of interaction from the file folders flaps meaning you can house even more photos.

I have made this scrapbook layout into an interactive page layout by adding more pages to the file folders.



More interactions from file foldersThe pages of the file folders are held closed with the use of tiny magnets.

I have added 2 extra pages to each file folder front to allow me even more space to add extra photos.

Use lots of mat and layers to create dimension I stuck the wood paper to adhesive paper then cut letters out on the cricutadd lots of interest with embellishmentsI have golssed the elements to make them stand out



As the wood affect paper was very thin I first attached this to an adhesive sheet before cutting out the letters on the Cricut.
I added glossy accents to some elements to give a different affect along with lots of matting and layering to give different dimensions to the layout.
The wood embellishments also add more interest and I have inked the edges of these with distress inks.
