With the success of the 6×6 Mini Scrapbook in an Hour I want to show you how you can create this album with some interactive pages which means you can add even more photos to your mini scrapbook album.
This is a step by step tutorial in real time, so you can gather up your supplies and craft along with me.
I have broken this tutorial down into several videos so it makes it easier for you to stop and pick it up at again at anytime, meaning you don’t need to fast forward the video and find where you left off.
Each page construction and dectoration has its own video, there are 4 interactive pages along with inside front and back cover pocket pages.
I have also broken the assembley of the Album in 2 parts, part 1 shows how to attach the pages to the spine as it is slightly different to the method used in the 6×6 Mini Album in and Hour. In part 2 we attch the pages to the cover and finish decoration the Album.
This tutorial is great for crafters of any ablities and as the video tutorials are step by step which makes it easy to follow, I would recommend this to take your mini scrapbooks to another level. Enjoy!

Do you prefer the Video Tutorials broken down in to stages?
Do you find it easier to stop and pick up where you left off?
Is this easier than following a video tutorial for over an hour plus?
I would love to know your thoughts so I can improve my way of showcasing my tutorials, please leave me your comments. Happy Craftying Dawn x
Hi Dawn! I just found your sites and have to tell you I love your tutorials. Your explanations are so clear and precise without all the “yackity yak” that some other instructors include which I find distracting! Thank you for sharing your projects with us. I’ll be a frequent visitor! Have a nice day – sincerely, jeannette
Thank you Jeanette, being a crafter myself i just like to get things across in a clear and professional way. I take you you have subcribed to my YT Channel, that way you will get an email every time i publish a new video. Thanks for watching Dx
Hi Dawn, I just wanted to let you know how wonderful your tutorials are. You are now the person I go to when I want to learn a new project. You explain everything in a clear concise manner…lets face it,..you are fabulous! I’m on my way shopping to find candy for your candy bouquet, which I just watched on YouTube. Thank you again! Oh and what is the spelling of your favorite wet glue? I checked Amazon, but don’t think they sell it here (USA). Char
Thank you so much for your kind words and glad to hear you are enjoying my tutorials. The wet glue I use is “Collall All Purpose Glue” the supplier is Crafters Companion and it was mean to be on sell in the US as of February. I will chase them up and see if they have a date and keep you posted. I will put a post on my Facebook page. Many Thanks again and Happy Crafting. Dawn
I really like this 6×6 mini album. You are very easy to follow. Thank you. This going to sound so wired but I’m going to plunge ahead.. Your hands are so pretty. Do you happen to remember the name or color of your nail polish?
Hi Cynthia, So glad you enjoyed this project. Many people do email me about my nails and thank you for your nice comment. I usually wear Nails Inc polish as they are great colours and long lasting however, this is a l’Oreal nail polish and the colour is Rouge. I do love to keep my nails looking nice and my children moan if my nails are not painted so even they like to see them looking nice. Thankfully I do my own manicures other wise it would be an expensive business. Dawn x
Great videos and I can’t wait to get started, it’s going to be my weekend project. I do like the videos in separate parts. Do you have a materials list, how many sheets of paper you used? I want to make sure I purchase enough cardstock.
Thanks for sharing!
Yes this will make a great weekend project and you will really enjoy making it.
I don’t offer a supply/tools list or instructions with my free YouTube Video Turorials however, I do offer this and extras with my Online Workshops.
If you watch each video you will see I do tell and show you watch you will need to make each page so you can make you own shopping list from this or it may be stuff you already have in your crafty stash.
Enjoy!! Dawn
Hello Dawn
I found your lovely tutorials by accident a few days ago and have already made two albums..both using different methods. I found your tutorials very easy to follow. I go through a few stages, pause the video, make the items up to there, then do another couple of stages and so on. I have passed your links onto my fellow Trimmies on the Trimcraft forum. Quite a few have been inspired by your projects. One had lost her crafting mojo and you have inspired her to begin making a mini album.
Thank you for your concise and lovely tutorials. I have subscribed to your Youtube channel and look forward to the next project.

Hi Lyn and welcome! So glad you are enjoying my tutorials and they not only inspiring you but your fellow crafty friends too. Thank you so much for sharing my link with your fiends. Being a crafter myself I do try to make things as easy as possible for new and seasoned crafters alike, I have also inspired many non crafters to start a new hobbie which is great.
Great you have subscribed to my Youtube channel and that you have found my website that does have extras on too, like my Online Workshops. Please feel free too to post me some pics of your projects on my Facebook page, it is a great way of sharing your crafty projects with my fellow followers and great to also share the different ways in which you have made projects using my tutorials.
Happy crafting and TFS Dawn
I love how you have set up the tutorials with each step. I am making 4 of the Interactive albums for my families reunion this summer and have found your tutorials easy to follow, very concise and am looking forward to making your Star Album next for my best friend. Thank you so much for all that you do, this is my first time making these albums and I was getting very anxious with all the youtube tuts until I found yours and said ” I love the way she does hers.” Thanks again, I have been a papercrafter for years and love the new challenges.

So glad you are enjoying my tutorials, my Online Workshops are even more detailed and the projects are great but achievable with my step by step guidance. Great to hear I am inspiring you to make these lovely projects. Dawn
Thank you so much for putting these tutorials together. I have been viewing a lot of Youtube videos from many artists on these art journals, but I didn’t find one which showed the details of how to make a spine, pockets, etc. Only when I came across your youtube videos (to which I subscribed), and then to your website, did I find your detailed instructions. As a newbie to Art Journaling, I had that “Aha” moment, thanks to your time and effort to post them. I will be forever grateful for your website and these instructional videos. I can’t wait to get started on some of them! Thank you again! Christine
Thank you so much for taking the time to message me Christine. It is so nice to hear from my crafty followers and great to know that you are enjoying what i do. I am sure you will enjoy the land of Mini Albums and I can show you lots of ways to make so many. Happy Crafting Dawn
What an inspiration you are Dawn whenever I lose my mojo I go directly to your tutorials and off I go chomping at the bit. Thanks so very much for being so generous with sharing your experience and scrapping knowledge.
You are welcome, just so glad you are enjoying my tutorials. It is nice to here from my crafty friends so thank you for taking the time to message me. Dawn x
Hi Dawn, I was so amazed to find this was a FREE Tutorial as I would have happily paid for it, for it just finishes the book off really nicely thus making my very FIRST Ever Mini Book into something so very special.
Fortunately for me, I have only just received (5 days ago) my ‘First Edition Spring Fest’ Paper Pad, that you used in the ‘Make a Mini Book in 1 Hour or less’ Tutorial, which I loved, but this just makes it so much better & even more special for our son’s fiancée to plan her wedding & keep special thoughts in as she comes up to the wedding later this year.
So a very special “Thank you, Dawn” for taking this a step further for us, and I’m so very thankful that I found you & your wonderful Tutorials both, Free & others that are very cheap to purchase & are really extra special too.
I’ve also happily managed to get back issues of the ‘Simply Cards’ Magazine that also arrived last week – they do take a few weeks to reach this island – but were so well worth the extra postage. So I now have the beautiful INDIGOBLU STAMPS that came FREE with the magazine plus the FREE ‘FAIRY BELLE STAMPS & PAPER PAD that came with another of the same magazine’s back Issue which Dawn used for more wonderful tutorials. So I have a great deal to keep me occupied in the coming weeks including the ‘Handbag Mini Book’ Tutorial that I bought from you Dawn. So again my thanks & I hope to show if they turn out well!
Thank you Dawn for your clear & concise instructions on how to do things, I shall let you know how I get on…. Hugs, Dawn E x
Hi Dawn E,
You are so kind and it is lovely to hear fedback from my fellow crafters. Thank you for taking the time to comment and share your thoughts you are so kind.
Great to hear your parcels are arriving, it must be so frutrating that things take so long to reach you. You will have to bring an empty suitcase when you come back to the UK for your Son’s wedding. I would get him to take a few delieveries as the postage is cheaper then just bring them back.
You must be getting excited about the wedding? it’s not long now. With lots of photos there will be loads of mini books to make too!!! Happy days!
Take care and big crafty hugs Dawn x
Sorry for ‘waffling’ so much, I got carried away with excitement! In all I said, I forgot to say that I’ve subscribed to your ‘Youtube’ channel & your Blog as well. As I never want to miss any of your tuts.

Hi Dawn
I am in the middle of watching this series of videos for the mini album and thought I would take a break and check out your web site.
With regards to the breaking down of the tutorials, personally, I much prefer many smaller videos vs one large one, it is easier to keep track of where you are up to if you do not have the time to watch one long video and also I find it makes it easier to work on when you are just concentrating one one section at a time and in my case my work space tends to be less messy.
Thank you for the time and effort that you put into your videos I really enjoy watching them and then making the albums.
Do you take requests with regards to the making of albums, I have seen a mini album youtube video on an album called ” mini album layout not seen before x” by emily280881 dated 17/2/2013.
I am really enjoying your tutorial and can’t wait to try your techniques! I am a new crafter myself and this is the second of your video series I have watched, the other being the Exploding Box tutorial. Both are easy to follow even for us beginners and I want to thank you for that!
Hii I’m just starting out in scrap booking and was just wondering if you could please tell me where to buy the scoring board you have as it’s the one I would love to buy and I’m not quite sure where to look for scrapbooking supplies such as tools like this. I hope you can help, Charlotte x
Hello Charlotte and welcome!
I mostly use now my Stampin-Up Scoreboard as it has 1/8 inch lines. I also put a craft mat on top of this to work from and this is a Scor-Pal 12×12 craft mat.
I do hope this helps and I would do an online search to get the best price.
These are the BEST tutorials I have found to date. Thank-you so much for sharing your skills and talents with me.
